“Welcome to the club, Drake. The 29-year-old star is the newest member of The Forbes Five, our ranking of the wealthiest hip-hop artists, worth a combined $2.2 billion. This year’s king: #Diddy, boasts a staggering fortune of $750 million, up slightly from last year to top the list. Coming in a close second is Dr. Dre at $710 million. Jay Z ranks third in the race to $1 billion; his net worth now stands at $610 million. The Brooklyn-born rapper boasts a broad range of holdings, but it’s his Tidal streaming service that made him this year’s biggest gainer on paper. Cash Money chief #Birdman ranks fourth with $110 million, down a tick from last year due to turmoil within his empire. Newcomer #Drake comes in at number 5 with a net worth of $60 million thanks to cash from touring, music and deals with the likes of Nike, Sprite and Apple. We cannot question Birdman’s contribution to the game, he is one of the top 2 hip hop label owner’s whose artists have gone to become ¬†major bosses in their respective lanes. Nicki minaj is doing some major things on her side, Drake is doing just fine. Lil Wayne own’s his own label. He deserves to have some Respek on his name…
